Infographic Assignment

Task:

We are increasingly living in a data-oriented/data-driven society. Through visual rhetoric an artist can sway the perception of data, make it more understandable to an audience, draw attention to some figures while drawing attention away from others. Political campaigns, ad agencies, and special interest groups utilize design to alter the meaning of data all the time. Your assignment is to take a data set or statistic that you find and can cite, then using design and visual rhetoric, present that data in a graphically readable format. You are to design a poster or pamphlet that uses graphics and images to embed misleading thoughts and emotions with that data. Make numbers tell a lie.
